High-level meeting of the only female presidents in Africa.
High-level meeting of the only female presidents in Africa.

Namibian President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah paid a two-day working visit to Tanzania, where she was received with honours by President Samia Suluhu Hassan. The agenda included high-level meetings where the two leaders discussed mechanisms to boost trade, as well as joint strategies for the development of key infrastructure in the south and east of the continent. This trip marks Nandi-Ndaitwah's first international mission since assuming the office of head of state in March 2025, making history as Namibia's first female head of state.

The meeting takes on special relevance as it brings together the only two women currently leading African governments, a symbolic fact that reinforces female leadership on the continent's political scene. During the talks, both women leaders agreed on the need to deepen regional integration and promote more inclusive models of governance. The climate of cooperation and mutual understanding made clear the will of both countries to continue building a solid relationship oriented towards sustainable development.
