In a hopeful turn for the country's future, many Burkina Faso professionals from abroad - including scientists, doctors and engineers - are returning to their homeland. This marks a turning point for the country as key sectors such as health, education and technology are strengthened. The government has redoubled its efforts to boost innovation by opening science schools and specialised programmes for young people, with the International Institute for Water and Environmental Engineering (2iE) in Ouagadougou playing a key role as a training centre.

The initiative has sparked a flurry of positive reactions on social media, with comments ranging from excitement to inspiration. "News about this country makes my day," wrote one reader, while another said: "I'm ready to go home. There was no shortage of messages of admiration for the current leadership, such as one user who wished to have him as president in her country, or one who asked for divine protection for the man she described as "this beacon of light in a dark world". The hope is palpable, with voices dreaming of a more united and strengthened continent: "Let's make Africa great again", exclaimed one of the most shared responses.
