The Fundación Canaria El Buen Samaritano continues its commitment to training and social inclusion through the PIIIL GASTROAÑAZA course, a programme co-financed by the Canary Islands Employment Service and the European Social Fund. This initiative, focused on the hospitality sector, has enabled a group of unemployed people to successfully complete the Level 1 Professional Certificate in Basic Restaurant and Bar Operations, where they have developed key skills for working as waiters and waitresses.

The course has not only been a professional training tool, but also a space for coexistence, respect and joint growth. Currently, the students have started the second level, focused on Bar and Cafeteria Services, which is another step towards their full integration into the labour market. The enthusiasm with which they face this stage is palpable both in the classroom and on social networks, where they share their progress and gratitude: "I never thought I would return to study with such enthusiasm", comments one student on Instagram; "This is more than learning to serve coffee, it's learning to believe in myself", says another participant.

The Foundation stresses that the success of the programme goes beyond the technical content, highlighting the atmosphere of mutual support that has been generated. "The diversity of the group has been a strength, not a barrier," say the trainers, who celebrate the commitment of the students. Initiatives like this reinforce the role of training as a driving force for integration and improved employability, especially for groups seeking a second chance.
