The Government of Mauritania has taken a key step in its strategy to boost the extractive sector with the official opening of its mining cadastre. The move, announced by the Minister of Mines and Industry, opens the door to permit applications from both national and international companies interested in exploring and exploiting the country's natural resources.

This initiative represents a step forward in terms of transparency and institutional modernisation, aspects that the Mauritanian government considers essential to attract foreign capital and strengthen market confidence. The digitisation and opening of the mining register will facilitate access to information and allow for a more efficient management of available resources.

Companies such as MAUREX are already positioned as strategic partners for those wishing to operate in the country. With solid experience in the local context, the firm offers comprehensive advice to investors, from the interpretation of the regulatory framework to the administrative follow-up of files before the competent authorities.

The new scenario offers concrete opportunities for sectors linked to mining and extractive industries, at a time when Mauritania is seeking to diversify its economy. This openness is expected to stimulate competition, boost regional development and contribute to a more sustainable exploitation of its mineral wealth.
