Casa África promotes an intense agenda of activities focused on knowledge and rapprochement between Africa and Europe, with special attention to issues of human rights, cultural diversity and social justice. In this line, it collaborates with local organisations such as BCxI and ByD Canarias to develop spaces for dialogue that amplify voices from the peripheries. One of its main focuses is to give visibility to LGTBIQ+ struggles in rural, marginalised and global south contexts.

As part of this work, the round table "LGTBIQ+ writings from the peripheries: a tricontinental dialogue" will take place on Friday 27th June at 7pm in Casa África's central courtyard, and will be broadcast on its YouTube channel. The event will bring together leading figures from Africa, Latin America and Europe in a hybrid format, to discuss identity, literature and activism from multiple cultural and geographical approaches.

Researchers, poets and activists Cecile Carolline Eveng, Federico Vivanco, Tayri Muñiz, Juli Mesa, Aurora H. Camero, Marta Sofía López, Wame Molefhe, Aida González Rossi, Kedolwa Waziri and Mel Soma will share their perspectives on dissidence, love, exile and belonging.
