The Caravan Route in Morocco: long-distance cycling.
The Caravan Route in Morocco: long-distance cycling.

Morocco has just added an unprecedented attraction for long-distance cycling: a crossing that links the Atlantic with the Mediterranean at the stroke of a pedal.

The new Caravan Route links Tiznit with Tangier, crossing deserts, gorges and isolated villages. The route combines dirt tracks, tribal paths and ancient trade passes.

More than 2,000 kilometres of the route take you through the Anti-Atlas, the Sahara and the High Atlas before descending towards the Rif and reaching the northern coast.

The itinerary not only offers changing landscapes, but also recovers historical routes used for centuries by merchants and shepherds, now transformed into a sporting challenge of great projection.

The project aims to attract international cyclists who are looking for authentic adventure, away from asphalt and conventional tourist routes. Its toughness requires preparation, endurance and autonomy.

With this commitment, Morocco is positioning itself as an emerging destination for bikepacking worldwide, showing that its old trails are still alive and ready to tell new stories on two wheels.
