The Africa 2025 Report of the Alternativas Foundation was presented at Casa África's headquarters by José Segura Clavell, director general of Casa África; and Vicente Palacio, director of Foreign Policy of the Alternativas Foundation. The event took place within the framework of the debate "West Africa and Europe: a relationship at the crossroads", a fact that the report explores in depth.
West Africa is a region of great complexity, marked by diverse political, social and economic realities. In recent years, it has undergone profound changes in its internal dynamics, most notably the exit of Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
At the same time, the countries of the region face common challenges, such as the rise of jihadism and migratory flows, which makes it essential to adopt multilateral strategies. In this context, Europe and Spain have the opportunity to play a key role and strengthen their cooperation with the states in the region.
The debate "West Africa and Europe: a relationship at the crossroads" featured Saiba Bayo, political scientist, Beatriz de León Cobo, researcher and security analyst, and Andrea Chamorro, geopolitical analyst.
The presentation can be viewed on the channel Casa África YouTube.
