For years, we worked very hard to get to the World Cup, which seemed like a very distant dream.
For years, we worked very hard to get to the World Cup, which seemed like a very distant dream.
Three games ago, we saw that it was possible and the dream came true. It was hard work behind the scenes, as we already knew that we would have two sold-out games. We tripled the parking, but it still wasn't enough for the amount of people who were eager to cheer on the Tubaroes.
The stadium was prepared down to the last detail and, together with the security forces, a plan was drawn up to ensure that everything was in place for the event that was to come. All praised it.
It was achieved.
It is an immeasurable joy. We deserve this World Cup qualification because of the constant, serious and responsible work of so many people over so many years. Several generations of Cape Verdeans, but only one dream.
After we have qualified, when the World Cup comes around, the dream will be to win the first game. The objectives will be set by the coaching staff after the draw. If we are drawn in the remaining group in Massachusetts, it would be a bombshell.
