Casa África presents at its headquarters in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria the exhibition Women in Science. Voices of Change, a proposal that highlights the role of African women researchers in global health.
The exhibition, promoted by the Anesvad Foundation, portrays the careers of eight women scientists who lead projects linked to neglected tropical diseases, highlighting their transformative capacity in vulnerable communities.
The tour allows visitors to discover figures such as the Cameroonian epidemiologist Rose Lake, involved in the fight against malaria and polio, and the biomedical scientist Sara Irene Eyangoh, a leading figure in the field of tuberculosis.
Also on display are the achievements of Dorothy Yeboah-Manu from Ghana, an expert in mycobacteria and genomics, and Gloria Dada Chechet from Nigeria, dedicated to trypanosomiasis research and vaccine development.
The proposal is inspired by the documentary Think Outside The Box and uses graphic resources that bring the visitor closer to the personal and professional dimension of these researchers.
The public will be able to visit the exhibition until 17 October, with the possibility of free guided tours for schools and citizens' groups on request.
