The Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Senegal will host the official presentation of the Ibero-African Association of Chambers of Commerce (AFRICO), a new platform aimed at strengthening economic ties between Africa and the Iberian Peninsula, on 30 October at the Cervantes Institute in Dakar. The meeting, organised together with the Chamber of Commerce of Gran Canaria and the Chamber of Commerce of Spain, will bring together institutional and business representatives from both continents.
AFRICO was created with the aim of creating a space for stable cooperation between the chambers of commerce of West Africa, Spain and Portugal, promoting joint projects and new opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises. Its mission is to facilitate access to strategic information, promote transnational alliances and foster the internationalisation of businesses in key sectors such as energy, agribusiness and logistics.
The choice of Dakar for the presentation responds to Senegal's growing role as a meeting point between Europe and West Africa. The aim is to send a message of openness and collaboration that strengthens the connection between the Iberian and African economies, at a time of particular dynamism for the region.
AFRICO's permanent headquarters will be in Gran Canaria, an enclave that reinforces its Atlantic character and its vocation as an economic and cultural bridge. From there, future business missions, training programmes and cooperation projects that will form part of the new association's agenda will be coordinated.
Attendance at the presentation event will require prior registration via the following address LINK. The event will be attended by diplomatic representatives, African chambers of commerce and Iberian business entities.
