Aïsha Dabo, coordinator of Africtivistes, stresses - in an interview with Pascale Mahé Keingna and Bruno Maggiore - that Africans want their leaders to represent their interests, but there is a gap between their demands and government decisions. He points out that China and Russia are expanding their influence in Africa for its resources, and that African governments must negotiate deals that benefit the people, not just the elites. He gives the example of Senegal, where contracts that did not favour the people are being reviewed.

Africtivistes works to empower civil society through education, technology and access to public information. It promotes democracy adapted to each country, ensuring independence between powers and citizen participation. It stresses the importance of Africans being protagonists in building their future.
