The Tierra Firme programme has strengthened institutional ties with Senegal.

Institutional ties have been strengthened this week in Senegal around the Tierra Firme training programme, an initiative promoted by the Directorate of Relations with Africa of the Government of the Canary Islands together with the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Senegal, the ITC, the Construction Labour Foundation, FEMEPA, FEMETE and other partners. The local authorities have expressed their satisfaction with the results obtained, especially in terms of youth employability. Currently running in Senegal and Mauritania, the programme will soon be expanded to Cape Verde and Gambia.

Within the framework of this visit, a tour was made of the facilities of the leading Canary Islands company in the country, noted for its presence in several African territories such as Mali, Nigeria and Gambia, with more than 20 operational centres in Senegal. The official closing of the programme was held Wednesdaywith more than 200 young beneficiaries who are preparing to enter the labour market thanks to this commitment to vocational training and international cooperation.
