Bénin is consolidating its position as an emerging benchmark in Africa, thanks to a thriving economy and far-reaching structural reforms. With growth of 7.5 % in 2024, the country stands out for its expanding tertiary sector and enviable political stability.

Forecasts for the period 2025-2027 point to a sustained pace of development of around 7.1 %. The construction of hospitals, roads and solar plants, together with the agro-industrial drive, are redefining its economic outlook.

In this new story of progress, Jean-Wilfried Kemajou takes centre stage. In charge of the Bénin country brand, he combats clichés about Africa and opts for a modern narrative, connected to its rich history.

Technological progress also finds its place in this transformation. Bertin Nahum, originally from Bénin and leader of Quantum Surgical, has developed Epione, a surgical robot that assists in complex cancer operations. With almost 1,000 patients operated on, Epione has been awarded the prestigious Prix Galien USA.

Another key player is moringa, a versatile plant that is emerging as a strategic resource for food, health and energy. Its sustainable exploitation opens up new avenues in the fight against food insecurity.

HealthTech, on the other hand, appears to be a decisive sector for modernising African healthcare systems. Medical innovation is advancing strongly, positioning the continent as a hub for technological solutions with global impact.
