Last week, the volume «African women take the floor» was presented at CIE-USAL. The event vindicates the value of scientific knowledge expressed in native African languages.

This book brings together research by African women scientists who publish in their vernacular languages, instead of always translating into French, English or Portuguese. It seeks to make knowledge from diverse linguistic contexts visible.

The book, which is open access, invites you to consult its chapters without economic or linguistic barriers and is available on the website of EUSAL.

The project is the result of an alliance between the University of Salamanca, Women for Africa, ACESDA and Casa África. During the launch, women authors from Cameroon, Ghana and South Africa spoke.

The urgency of promoting a truly multilingual science, which values African languages as a legitimate means of producing and disseminating knowledge, was discussed.
