Brazil strengthens bilateral relations with Senegal and other African countries

El Canciller Brasil busca alianzas en África

El canciller de Brasil, Mauro Vieira, se reunió con el presidente de Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, para fortalecer los lazos bilaterales, en el marco de su gira por África. También dialogó con su homóloga senegalesa, Yassine Fall, sobre oportunidades comerciales y cooperación en sectores como la agricultura, ciencia y cultura.

Durante su gira, Vieira visitó Nigeria, Cabo Verde, Benín y próximamente Costa de Marfil, abordando temas como comercio, conexiones marítimas y aéreas, y cooperación en educación y agricultura. Además, transmitió la invitación del presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva a su homólogo nigeriano, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, para visitar Brasil.

Según la Cancillería brasileña, África, con 1.500 millones de habitantes, representa una región clave para diversificar las asociaciones con Brasil. El comercio bilateral con los países visitados por Vieira alcanzó los 3.170 millones de dólares en 2024.
