The Viceconsejería de Acción Exterior del Gobierno de Canarias (Vice-Ministry of External Action of the Government of the Canary Islands) has awarded a substantial grant to the Canary Good Samaritan Foundation for the construction of the Hotel Escuela Hogar Baobab in Senegal.
This project seeks to train young people in vulnerable situations in the hotel sector, providing them with real opportunities for employment and personal development.
With this and other actions, the Government of the Canary Islands thus maintains its commitment to international cooperation and sustainable development, and is committed to a future with more opportunities for all.
For its part, the Fundación Canaria Buen Samaritano works for the social and labour inclusion of people in vulnerable situations, such as the long-term unemployed, young people, women, people with disabilities and immigrants.
Among its key actions, it promotes socio-occupational integration, training, awareness-raising and dissemination programmes.
It also collaborates with institutions and promotes volunteering. Its work is aimed at "generating opportunities and improving the quality of life of the most vulnerable", as highlighted in its list of purposes.
