On Saturday 4th October 2025, a meeting was held at the Santa Catalina Hotel in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria between José Luis Artiles, representing AFRICA MID ATLANTIC, and Aminou Kolawole Akadiri, Executive Director of the Federation of West African Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FEWACCI).
During the meeting, the two sides outlined a joint educational project aimed at expanding access to English and Spanish classes across the African continent. The initiative envisages fully live and online courses with internationally recognised certifications.
The English programme will be endorsed by the University of Oxford, while the Spanish course will be certified by the University of Salamanca. The aim of this proposal is to offer high quality training to African students and professionals.
One of the key agreements was that FEWACCI will actively support the alumni recruitment process in Africa. The initial plan will concentrate on Nigeria as a first focus before expanding to other countries in the West African region.
The company AFRICA MID ATLANTIC 2025 SL, recently incorporated and based in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, has as its corporate purpose the teaching of languages, both face-to-face and online. FEWACCI is a regional organisation created in 1976 that represents West African chambers of commerce and promotes the economic integration of the private sector.
With this alliance, both entities aim to reduce educational barriers in Africa and to foster a bridge of professional and intercultural communication between continents.
