Santiago Juvenal Esono and Luis Guillermo Padilla held a meeting to discuss new forms of institutional collaboration between Equatorial Guinea and the Canary Islands.

The Consul General of Equatorial Guinea in the Canary Islands, Santiago Juvenal Esono Bioko, recently met with Luis Guillermo Padilla Macabeo, Director General for Relations with Africa of the Government of the Canary Islands.

The meeting, in the framework of the preparations for the next event of the Official Council of Experts, served to discuss ways of intensifying institutional collaboration between the two sides.

Both delegations placed special emphasis on the sports and business sectors, as areas with high potential for exchange and joint growth.

Padilla Macabeo expressed his intention to travel to Equatorial Guinea to promote training, institutional links and projects in tourism, electricity, construction and strategic services.

Such a diplomatic and economic boost is in line with the Canary Islands' policy of strengthening ties with neighbouring African countries to foster shared development.

For his part, the Consul recalled his role as cultural and institutional liaison, and reaffirmed his commitment to facilitate bilateral initiatives that open doors to new opportunities.
