Earlier this year, images of an alleged robbery of a Glovo delivery driver circulated on WhatsApp, accompanied by messages suggesting that the incident involved "illegal immigrants" who had recently arrived in the Canary Islands. However, this video had previously circulated, claiming to have been recorded in Barcelona, when in fact it did not correspond to a robbery in Spain. The event took place in Italy, according to eldiario.es, specifically in Calata Capodichino street in Naples, on 1 January 2021.

According to the Fanpage website, it is possible to verify the location by comparing the street furniture shown in the video with Google Street View images of the area. Other Italian media, such as Il Messaggero, also confirmed that the incident occurred in Naples, between the night of 1 and 2 January, and that the victim was a 50-year-old man. In addition, Francesco Emilio Borrelli, a regional councillor for the Green Europe party, posted a video on his Facebook page in which he interviewed the assaulted delivery driver, providing more details about the attack.

"Migration is an expression of human aspiration for dignity, security and a better future. It is part of the social fabric, part of our very constitution as a human family".
