The electric vehicle ITAOUA has been driven by a local entrepreneur.

Burkina Faso has taken a historic technological and industrial step by unveiling its first electric car designed and manufactured entirely in the country. Under the name ITAOUA, this new national brand symbolises the nation's growing capacity to innovate and compete in the automotive sector, with a commitment to sustainability and technological independence.

The vehicle, created by Burkinabe engineers and assembled at the Ouaga 2000 plant, offers a range of 330 kilometres after only 30 minutes of charging. It is an efficient option for both urban and rural areas, with integrated technologies such as GPS navigation, Bluetooth connectivity and solar charging, found in models such as the "Native" and the "Sahel".

This project, driven by a local entrepreneur, aims to position the country as a technological benchmark in West Africa. In addition to reducing dependence on imported vehicles and fossil fuels, the initiative promises to boost the national economy by creating jobs in sectors such as manufacturing, marketing and renewable energy.

ITAOUA embodies a vision of sustainable development in line with the leadership of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, and demonstrates that innovation can flourish from the heart of the Sahel. Burkina Faso is thus strongly joining the transformation of the African electric vehicle market, valued at more than 11 billion dollars and in constant expansion.
