Ethiopia's Minister of Women and Social Affairs, Ergoge Tesfaye, highlighted the vital role of youth in Africa's development at the opening of the Pan-African Youth Leadership Summit in Addis Ababa.
The three-day event, under the theme "Unleashing the Power of Youth for a Prosperous Africa", promotes dialogue and cooperation among young leaders on issues such as sustainable development, peace and economic empowerment.
Tesfaye recalled that more than 70 % of the African population is under the age of 30, so it is essential to invest in education, resources and opportunities for young people, considering them key players in the continent's progress.
The summit is aligned with the objectives of the African Union's Agenda 2063, which seeks to transform Africa into an inclusive, united and prosperous continent.
