Students from Teror (Gran Canaria) presented their work at "Enseñar AÁfrica. A positive view".

On the occasion of 8 March, International Women's Day, and in line with the theme proposed by the UN in 2025: "For women and girls in ALL their diversity: Rights, equality and empowerment", the students of 2nd ESO of IES Teror, in Gran Canaria, have developed a work in French focused on the struggle of African women and the progress made in different areas over the past 30 years. This project, in the form of a poster, commemorates the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.

As part of the Cultural Week of IES Teror, the elements of the Women's Game, including tokens and maps, will be displayed in large format. The model of the game includes the rules, the tokens that the students will take at random, information about each woman represented and her country of origin, as well as an interactive map where they will have to locate the corresponding country.

In addition, in order to connect this theme with the Heritage theme, the project coordinators have produced a poster that visually illustrates the presence of slaves in Teror between the 16th and 18th centuries. This material has been developed based on research by Gustavo A. Trujillo (La población esclava de Teror 1605-1725. Los otros terorenses) and Manuel Lobo (Los mercaderes y la trata de esclavos en Gran Canaria. Siglo XVI). For the moment, this poster has been presented and exhibited to the students of 1st and 2nd ESO.
