Enrique Ojeda, Spanish Ambassador to Morocco, accompanied by the Consul General in Nador and the representative of the ECO in Rabat, officially visited the headquarters of the Association Femmes pour l'Afrique, based in Faro de Nador (Photo: Fundación Mujeres Por África).

The Faro de Nador, headquarters of the Association Femmes pour l'Afrique and the Women for Africa Foundation, received a visit from the Spanish Ambassador to Morocco, Enrique Ojeda Vila. He was accompanied by the Consul General in Nador and a representative of the Spanish Commercial Office in Rabat, who learned first-hand about the work of both organisations in the eastern region.

During the tour, projects that promote the economic and social development of local women were shown. These include R+DeAlgas, which promotes the sustainable cultivation of gracilaria algae in the Marchica lagoon, generating employment for women's cooperatives. Another relevant programme is Origine Nador, an entrepreneurship incubator focused on local crafts that offers training, advice and marketing opportunities.

The meeting allowed craftswomen, weavers and entrepreneurs to share their experiences. They explained how these initiatives have provided them with tools to professionalise their work and increase their economic independence. The Spanish representatives spoke directly with the beneficiaries, highlighting the importance of strengthening sustainable projects that combine innovation and tradition.

Local organisations expressed their satisfaction with the visit, which they consider a recognition of the collective effort. They stressed that institutional support helps to make the real impact of their programmes visible and motivates more women to participate in productive projects.

Ambassador Ojeda Vila stressed that these experiences are an example of effective cooperation, which unites investment, training and opportunities for the development of women in Morocco. He affirmed that Spain will continue to support initiatives that promote the economic and social autonomy of local communities.

With this visit, Faro de Nador consolidates itself as a reference in the region for women's empowerment projects, becoming a space where innovation, sustainability and local culture meet to generate real opportunities.
