In parallel to the High Level Meeting between Spain and Mauritania, Canary Islands companies from the health sector developed an intense strategic agenda in Nouakchott.
The San Roque University Hospitals and the telemedicine company Diagnóstica, together with Dr Ahmed Teiss of the Diabetes Clinic, were received by the Minister of Health, Abdallahi Ould Wedih, and part of his team.
During the meetings, key projects were presented: a diagnosis of the Mauritanian health sector, the most attractive areas for Canary Islands companies and a Horizon Europe plan to extend health to rural areas.
The mission resulted in important agreements. Globalsanihub, a consortium of companies from the Canary Islands, signed a collaboration pact with the National Health Federation of Mauritania on innovation and health organisation.
In addition, the San Roque University Hospitals sealed an agreement with the Medipole Polyclinic to cooperate in training, telemedicine and medical evacuations.
Next September, a Mauritanian delegation headed by its Minister of Health will visit the Canary Islands to see its hospital network at first hand and to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
