Ricardo Martínez Llorca has published a review of Xavier Aldekoa's new book, "África redonda", an interesting 261-page work published in Barcelona by Península. In his presentation he writes: Rafael Azcona said that to live is to have breakfast, but for many, life only feels complete if they can talk about football.

Often, these talks are scorned as trivial, but sharing moments, even through football, is an essential part of life. Eduardo Galeano understood this well, and Xavier Aldekoa continues that tradition by telling, through football, the stories of those who suffer history, as Camus would say.

In "África redonda", Aldekoa compiles articles that reflect his passion for the African continent and his belief that travelling is knowing through encounters. His love of football, especially F.C. Barcelona, allows him to connect with people, overcome barriers and live life to the full. The scenarios he describes, although difficult, are full of passion, struggle and life.

More than a literary work, "Round Africa" is an invitation to question our own existence and the path we have chosen. It leaves us with the feeling that our life could be a mere imitation, but it gives us the opportunity to share, even if only in reading, fragments of authentic life.
