Ghanaian photographer Derrick Ofosu Boateng transforms each image into an explosion of colour and vitality. His aim is to show Africa from an authentically African perspective, far removed from Western stereotypes.
At 27, Boateng has revolutionised the world of art and fashion with his unmistakable style. Although he first picked up a camera at the age of 10, it was at 17 that he discovered editing, the technique that defines his current work.
Her Maternity collection highlights the beauty of the maternal figure and challenges prejudices. Her images, featuring family and friends, capture the essence of African culture in vibrant shades of red, blue, green and yellow. In scenes of children playing on the beach or musicians gathered around a car, Boateng conveys a sense of joy and warmth.
Thanks to his talent, he has carved a niche in the fashion industry, collaborating with luxury brands and letting the light of his art inspire those who watch him.
