Presentation ceremony of the "InnoVamos" project at the ULL

On 25 and 26 March, the launch meeting of the MAC Interreg project "InnoVamos", an initiative funded by the INTERREG VI-D Madeira-Azores-Canary Islands (MAC) 2021-2027 programme, was held. With a budget of 4.06 million euros, co-financed 85% by the European Commission, the project seeks to strengthen open innovation and cross-border collaboration between universities, companies and organisations in Macaronesia and West Africa.

Under the leadership of the Fundación Canaria Parque Científico Tecnológico de la Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, institutions from the Canary Islands, Madeira, Azores, São Tomé and Príncipe, Ghana and Cape Verde are participating. The University of La Laguna (ULL), as a partner of the project, will play a key role in knowledge transfer and the connection between academia and industry, through its Knowledge Transfer Office (OTC).

During the launch meeting, the strategies for the implementation of the project until 2027 were defined, including training activities, advice and support to SMEs for the adoption of innovative technologies. In addition, priority will be given to social innovation, ensuring that the knowledge generated has a real impact on the sustainable development of the region.

The director of the OTC, José Manuel Rodríguez Ramos, presented the milestones that the ULL expects to achieve in this initiative, which reinforces its role in innovation networks at national and international level. In the working sessions, the key indicators, the distribution of responsibilities among the partners and the schedule of activities were established, ensuring an efficient management of the project.
